mozzarella sticks
cut in half horizontally

Italian breadcrumbs

panko
marinara sauce
for dipping
Instructions
Place flour in a shallow bowl.
Crack an egg into a separate shallow bowl and whisk until broken up.
In a 3rd shallow bowl mix Italian breadcrumbs and panko.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll each mozzarella stick in flour until fully coated.
Dip the flour coated mozzarella stick in the egg until full coated and then the breadcrumb panko mix until fully coated.
Place on the baking sheet and repeat the process with the remaining mozzarella sticks.
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes to an hour.
Discard any excess egg. Wash the bowl and dry as it will be used again.
After at least 30 minutes have passed, remove baking sheet from the freezer.
Crack the 2nd egg into the cleaned shallow bowl and whisk until broken up.
Repeat the flour, egg, and breadcrumb assembly line.
Once finished, place the baking sheet back in the freezer for another 30 minutes to an hour.
Discard excess flour, egg and bread crumbs.
After another at least 30 minutes have passed, remove the baking sheet from the freezer.
If your air fryer requires pre-heating, pre-heat to 370 degrees F.
Open your air fryer and place an air fryer parchment sheet in the bottom of the tray or lightly spray the tray with non-stick cooking spray.
Place frozen breaded cheese sticks in a single layer on the tray. Make sure not to overcrowd them. You will need to cook them all in 2-3 batches.
Cook for 5-7 minutes. Peak in at 5 minutes to make sure the cheese isn't oozing through the breadcrumbs.
Repeat the cooking process with the remaining cheese sticks.
Serve with warm marinara sauce.
Notes
Any uncooked mozzarella sticks can be stored in a quart sized bag in the freezer.
