Old-Fashioned Pecan Pie

  • 1/ 2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark sugar cane syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Put sugar and syrup in saucepan; bring to a boil. Beat eggs, without separating, and slowly add hot syrup, stirring constantly. Add butter, vanilla, and pecans. Pour into an unbaked pie shell and bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 275 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Serve with our without whipped topping.
