It's the most wonderful time of the year! 🍾

This Saturday, November 9th is the return of the Decatur Wine Festival in Decatur Square. For 4 hours, you can enjoy 350+ wines while grooving to sounds by my good friend, DJ @quasimandisco . It truly is a party in the Square and one I never want to miss! All proceeds from the event benefit the @decatur_arts_alliance , a nonprofit that serves the Decatur community by producing free art events and experiences, so you are drinking wine for a good cause. 😉

Lumpia is life 🇵🇭

Teaching friends how to make lumpia as my contribution to their dinuguan dinner (which was amazing considering they had never made it before). Rolling lumpia is more fun with friends (and sake lol) for sure.

We fried them up and dipped them in my fave sasawan (dipping sauce) while we patiently waited for the diniguan to cook. It was a good night of Filipino eats!

The Westside location may be "six feet under" but they're still serving up great seafood and drinks at their Grant Park and Chesire Bridge locations.

I checked out the Chesire Bridge location for the first time and had a great experience. I wantes to put the Funday into my Sunday so I kicked things off with a Bloody Mary. Bonus points because they serve it with a shot of Guiness (don't judge my pouring skills lol). From there were worked our way through a few of the menu items:

🦪 Raw Oysters
🦑 Calamari
🐚 Conch Fritters
🍔 Salmon BLT Sliders
🍽 Scallops & Grits

Everything was fresh and tasty so we were pleased. I even had a few more cocktails that did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and full of great recommendations.

I'm all about a chill, laib back atmosphere with good food and drinks so I'll definitely be back to this location.

After getting back to Austin from spending a few days in Salado, good eats were my first and most important order of business. Luckily @lastrancastaqueria.official was walking distance from my luggage storage so I could grab a quick bite before checking into my room. 4 tacos (lengua, barbacoa, and 2 campechano) and a Tamarind Jarritos hit the spot!

The stand is located on East Cesar Chavez Street. You have to walk up to order and wait for them to call your number. There are benches and stools (some covered) so you can eat your food there while it's fresh. 😋

Asking for myself and @karlyeats . We had 2 among the 3 of us but could have gone for a 3rd. 😆

It's always a treat when @chef_jackiechang is serving us and @monkey68alpharetta is worth the drive. We took advantage of the Alpharetta Restaurant Week menu on top of our grilled fish collars. I went with the Smoked Hamachi, Blue Fin Tuna Sashimi Tasting, Chilean Sea Bass, and Monaka. And you know I added on the sake pairing for myself. 🍶

If you're a fan of @chiroriatlanta like me or just want solid sushi in Alpharetta, you've got to check them out. And if you're looking to indugle in a cool dining experience, keep your eye out for their Tuna Cutting reservations (you can find a recap of that in my Reels tab)!

What can I say? We were hungry, and @foundationsocialeatery definitely hit the spot. I had not been here since they reopened in their current location and am glad we landed here for a second dinner.

We got the wood Oven Roasted Hanger Steak with roasted mushrooms, parsnip puree, bordelaise, and truffle vinaigrette. I can never resist duck on a menu, and their Smoked Duck Breast was amazing. It was served with green lentils, chanterelles, onion, endive, and a fall-spiced duck jus. Not pictured were the FSE burger and the Mushroom Ravioli (which is a must order menu item).

If @kaytranada is in ATL, I'm going to be there. Last year I saw him at @renderatl thinking it would be my only chance to see him live so I went solo because I wasn't going to miss the opportunity. When he announced a tour stop in ATL this year, there was no doubt I was copping tickets.

The concert this past weekend at @lakewoodamp was a total vibe. It gave me life and brought me so much joy. And I am so glad I got seats at the end of the row because it gave me plenty of room to groove. The concert was well worth the traffic leaving to get back home. 😅

Shout out to @karlyeats for swooping in to be my date at the last minute! 🫶🏽

I need more arepas in my life! 😋

With @arepamia being pretty close to my home, I have no excuse not to visit when the craving hits. These grilled cornmeal patties are stuffed with delicious organic goodness, and they have a variety of different options (including vegetarian and vegan ones).

On this particular day, I was feeling ravenous so I went with the Arepa Chicharrón which is a crispy fried arepa filled with 12 hour roasted pork, crispy pork skin, caramelized onion, cilantro and lime. Simply delicious! Did I mention the restaurant received a @michelinguide
Bib Gourmand recognition so you know you're getting good quality, good value eats.

I have a confession to make...

I am not really a big fan of BBQ 🫣

Let me explain... it's really because I am disappointed by most of the BBQ I have tried. What can I say? I'm a tough critic. Given that, it’s usually not on my list of foods to get even what I'm in a big BBQ city. However, when @whonoms said @la_barbecue was one of his faves in Austin, I had to check them out.

The verdict: 🔥🔥

There was a line, but it was tolerable. I got there 15 minutes after they opened and waited about 40 minutes. I thought their process was really efficient, and being able to order drinks while waiting came in clutch! Especially since the temp was in the 90s. I ended up over ordering because I was heading straight to the airport and wanted leftovers for dinner when I got home. 😅

What I ordered:
• 1 lb brisket
• 1/2 lb pork ribs (they have beef ones on Fri but sold out quick)
• 1 jalapeño sausage
• 1 chipotle sausage
• 1 pint of shells & cheese
• 1 side of potato salad
• Pickles

If you're in Austin, definitely recommend checking them out and taking a visit to the disco bathroom. 💃🏽

You're only as old as you feel, right?! In that case, I am, in fact, in my 30s. 😜

Friendly reminder to not take everything so seriously. There's always room for a little laughter. Plus, I hear laughing has anti-aging benefits. 😄
