Elder Orchard Tipple

I don’t know about you, but when the crispness of the Fall air hits my skin, I am ready to ditch seltzers and summer drinks. As much as I enjoy the summer and laying by the pool, Fall has my heart. There is something about the subtle drop in temperature and changing colors of the leaves that I find very comforting. With the seasonal changes we switch up the meals we make so why not do the same with your cocktails?

When Autumn hits, I am not quite ready for the warmth of bourbon and whiskey. However, I want my cocktails to have that fall feel. Apple is perfect for that, but not that imitation apple flavor you find in your apple-tinis. Fresh pressed apple juice or a good unfiltered apple juice will do the trick.

This Elder Apple Orchard is a wonderful transitional cocktail (yep- I’m saying that is a thing). You’ll taste the juicy crispness of the apple and floral notes from the elderflower. Vodka is my preference for a base spirit. Gin can be substituted but recommend one that isn’t so heavy on the juniper berries. No fancy tools or techniques required. Just shake it up and pour.

The Elder Orchard Tipple is perfect for your Fall gatherings. It is a lovely complement to Thanksgiving (or Friendsgiving) meals. I promise your guests will want more than one so have plenty of vodka on hand to keep their glasses full!
